Dixon Wins, Ties Unser For 5th On All Time List

Last updated on Monday, August 25, 2014

(Sonoma, CA) - Scott Dixon passed Mike Conway with 3 laps to go, and held on to win the Go Pro Grand Prix of Sonoma.

Dixon won his 35th career IndyCar race, who tied Bobby Unser for fifth on the all-time list.

Ryan Hunter-Reay finished second, with Simon Pagenaud coming home third after Conway ran out of fuel just yards from the finish. Conway ended up 14th.

Pole-sitter Will Power finished 10th after a mid-race spin sent him to the back of the field. Power now leads the point standings by 51 over teammate Helio Castroneves with one race to go.

Pagenaud is 81 points behind and is the only other driver who can win the title.

The race was held less than 10 miles from the epicenter of Sunday morning's Napa earthquake, which many of the drivers felt.
