Busch Hits SAFER Barrier During 500 Practice

(Indianapolis, IN) - All 33 starters turned over two thousand laps in the five-hour practice yesterday.

Josef Newgarden, who qualified eighth for Sunday's race, was fastest with a lap of 227.105 mph Juan Pablo Montoya, who qualified 10th, was second (226.532 mph) followed by Scott Dixon, Mikhail Aleshin, and Tony Kanaan wrap up the top 5.

The big story from the track yesterday was an incident involving Kurt Busch brought out a yellow flag 95 minutes into the session yesterday as Busch made contact with the Turn 2 SAFER Barrier.

Busch was checked at the Medical Center and cleared to drive. He will start 13th on Sunday.
