(UNDATED) - Former Indiana University assistant coach Dan Dakich, now an Indianapolis radio talk show host, says the NBA Commissioner was right to ban Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling for life over his racist comments.

"There is no denying where the NBA stands on this," said Dakich. "And I think Adam Silver delivered a great message--the perfect message."

Silver also fined Sterling $2.5 million and urged the NBA Board of Governors to force the sale of the Clippers. That's the most severe penalty the Commissioner could have imposed.

"It seemed to me that Adam Silver was hot," said Dakich. "And I don't think it was an act."

But Dakich also expects Sterling to refuse to go quietly, predicting that the controversy will be taken to the courts.
