(West Lafayette, IN) - Purdue senior guard Sterling Carter will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury during the Boilermakers’ loss at Nebraska on Sunday.
Head coach Matt Painter announced that Carter suffered tears to the ACL and the lateral meniscus in his right knee while driving to the basket against the Cornhuskers.
The injury will end Carter's college career.
Carter transferred to Purdue from Seattle last summer. He played in 27 games this season, starting the final five while averaging just under five points per game. He was second on the Boilermakers with 25 steals and was third on the team with 28 three-point baskets.
Carter's best performance in a Purdue uniform came on February 15th when he scored a season-high 19 points in the Boilers' 82-64 victory over Indiana, making five of his six three-point shots in the win.
