Wild Score Early, Hold On Late To Beat Blackhawks

Last updated on Friday, January 24, 2014

(St. Paul, MN) - Two first-period goals held up as the Minnesota Wild edged the Chicago Blackhawks 2-1 Thursday night in St. Paul.

The Hawks didn't get on the scoreboard until the final minute of the game when Patrick Kane lit the lamp for his 24th goal of the season.

Chicago out-shot Minnesota 34-19 but couldn't solve goalie Darcy Kuemper despite a 16-3 edge in third-period shots.
