Pacers Extend Streak To Five With Win Over Warriors

Last updated on Tuesday, January 21, 2014

(Oakland, CA) - The Indiana Pacers extended their current winning streak to five games with a 102-94 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

Paul George, who was held scoreless in last year's contest at Oracle Arena, led the Pacers with 23 points.

Indiana built a 20-point lead early in the third quarter and watched Golden State chip away.

The Warriors pulled to within two points early in the fourth but would get no closer. David West finished with 17 points with Roy Hibbert and Lance Stephenson adding double-doubles as all five Indiana starters reached double figures.

Stephen Curry led Golden State with 24 points with David Lee adding 20 points and twelve rebounds.

The Pacers improve to a league-best 33-7. Game Two of their five-game western road trip is Wednesday night in Phoenix.

Earlier on Monday, George was named the Eastern Conference's Player of the Week.

The Pacers forward averaged 30-point-seven points in Indiana's wins over Sacramento, New York and the Los Angeles Clippers last week.

All three wins came at Bankers Life Fieldhouse where the Pacers improved to a league-best 21-1 at home.

Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant took Player of the Week honors in the Western Conference.
