Cavaliers Forces Twenty Turnovers In Win Over Notre Dame

(South Bend, IN) - The Virginia Cavaliers ran their winning streak to four games with a 68-53 win over Notre Dame at Purcell Pavilion in South Bend.

Malcolm Brogdon led the Cavaliers with 16 points with Mike Tobey adding 14 as Virginia shot 54 percent from the field and forced the Fighting Irish into making a season-high 20 turnovers.

The Cavaliers jumped on the Irish early as Brogdon hit his first five shots from the field leading Virginia to a 20-point lead with five minutes remaining in the first half.

Notre Dame closed the advantage to 10 at halftime, closing the first half with a 9-0 run to trail 34-24. Virginia started the second half with a 9-0 run of their own to take command of the game.

Zach Auguste and Demetrius Jackson led Notre Dame with 10 points each as the Irish have lost their last three games.

The Cavaliers improve to 16-5, 7-1 in the A-C-C. Notre Dame drops to 11-10 overall, 2-6 in the conference heading into a game Saturday against Boston College in South Bend.
