Red Sox One Win Away From World Series Title

(St. Louis, MO) - The Boston Red Sox got another outstanding outing from starting pitcher Jon Lester en route to a 3-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals in game 5 of the World Series.

Lester earned the win, allowing 4 hits and striking out 7 in 7 2/3 innings of work.

Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright took the loss, after allowing 3 earned runs and 8 hits in 7 innings.

David Ortiz had three hits and an RBI for the Red Sox.
