Last updated on Tuesday, September 3, 2013

(New York, NY) - The New York Yankees waited out a two-hour rain delay and pounded the Chicago White Sox 9-1 at Yankee Stadium.

Dylan Axelrod replaced starter Jose Quintana following the rain delay and allowed eight runs, six earned, in New York's eight-run fourth inning.

Andy Romine hit a two-run single with Brett Garner and Alfonso Soriano adding RBI doubles in the big inning.

Derek Jeter had an RBI single in the first to give the Yankees the lead and added another run-scoring single in the fourth.

Chicago's lone run came on Paul Konerko's tenth home run of the year, a solo blast in the seventh.

The White Sox have lost four games in a row.
