Pirates Win Streak Now Four Games With Win Over Cubs

(Pittsburgh, PA) - The Pittsburgh Pirates ran their winning streak to four games with a 3-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs at PNC Park.

The Cubs got on the scoreboard in the third thanks to an RBI single from Starlin Castro.

The Pirates took the lead for good on back-to-back run-scoring singles from Marlon Byrd and Pedro Alvarez in the fourth.

Jordy Mercer gave Pittsburgh some insurance with an RBI double in the eighth.

Jeff Locke allowed a run on three hits in his seven innings of work in improving to 10-5.

Cubs starter Chris Rusin gave up two runs on four hits over seven as he falls to 2-4.
