Pagano Expects To Have Most Of His Starters For Opener

Last updated on Tuesday, September 3, 2013

(Indianapolis, IN) Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano expects to have most of his starters ready for Sunday’s regular-season opener with the Oakland Raiders.

Tight ends Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen participated in Monday's practice while Pagano expects to have left tackle Anthony Castonzo back on Thursday.

Pagano does expect running back Ahmad Bradshaw to play on Sunday.

Bradshaw, a free-agent signee from the New York Giants, has missed the entire preseason following offseason foot surgery.

The Colts made a trade and signed a pair of players to the practice squad on Monday.

The Horseshoes acquired linebacker Cam Johnson from San Francisco for a conditional draft pick.

Johnson was a seventh-round selection of the Forty-Niners in the 2012 draft.

To make room for Johnson, the Colts waived tight end Justice Cunningham. Indianapolis added wide receiver Da'Rick Rogers and running back Kerwynn Williams to the practice squad.

Rogers was let go by Buffalo on Saturday while the Colts cut Williams on Sunday.

The team also announced they have come to an injury settlement with receiver Nathan Palmer and have released him from the injured reserve list.
