(Chicago, IL) - Omar Infante drove in the lone run with a single in the top of the eighth inning as the Detroit Tigers edged the Chicago White Sox 1-0.
Detroit starter Anibal Sanchez threw seven and-a-third scoreless innings, allowing five hits and four walks while striking out ten to improve to 14-7.
Prince Fielder hit a one-out single off White Sox reliever Matt Lindstrom in the eighth and Victor Martinez followed with a single, sending Fielder to second.
After Lindstrom got Nick Castellanos to fly out to right, he surrendered Infante's game-winner.
With the win, Detroit increases its lead over second-place Cleveland to six and-a-half games in the A-L Central.
