Last updated on Friday, September 13, 2013

(St. Louis, MO) - The St. Louis Cardinals’ five-game winning streak is over as the Redbirds fell at home to the Milwaukee Brewers 5-3.

The Brewers scored four runs off St. Louis starter Joe Kelly with rookie Sean Halton doing most of the damage.

Halton hit an RBI single in the second and followed that up with a two-run home run in the fourth as Milwaukee jumped out to a 4-0 lead.

Brewers starter Tyler Thornburg allowed two runs over six innings to move to 2-1 while Kelly falls to 8-4.

Matt Adams hit a solo homer in the ninth for the Cardinals, his 13th of the year.

Pittsburgh's win combined with the Cardinals' loss means the teams are tied atop the NL Central with identical 85-61 records.
