(Chicago, IL) - Sunday proved to be a double victory for the Atlanta Braves, who clinched the National League East title and then beat the Chicago Cubs 5-2.
The Braves and Cubs were in the middle of their game, when the Washington Nationals lost the first game of a doubleheader, which clinched the division for the Braves.
Atlanta finished off the party by taking care of the Cubs behind two homers from shortstop Andrelton Simmons.
Julio Teherán was the winning pitcher for Atlanta.
Edwin Jackson took another loss for Chicago, his league leading 17th on the season.
