Tigers Rally In Ninth To Stun Indians

(Cleveland, OH) - In the American League, the Detroit Tigers rallied in the ninth inning to stun the Cleveland Indians 4-2 at Progressive Field.

The Tigers trailed 2-1 in the ninth inning when Alex Avila hit a go ahead three-run homer off of Indians' closer Chris Perez, who surrendered an RBI single to victor Martinez earlier in the inning for his third blown save of the season.

Corey Kluber shutout Detroit into the eighth inning with six strikeouts.

Anibal Sanchez struck out 11 in seven and-two-thirds innings pitched for Detroit.

The Indians are 62-and-50 and host Detroit tonight at 7:05.
