(Milwaukee, WI) - In the National League, Cardinals' pitcher Jake Westbrook sparked a six-run, second inning to help St. Louis beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-6 at Miller Park.

Westbrook's rare two-run double gave the Cardinals a 3-0 lead in the second.

Carlos Beltran hit a two-run homer later in the inning and Allen Craig followed two-batters later with a solo shot for a 7-0 lead.

The Cardinals are 73-53, trail the first place Pittsburgh Pirates by one game, and host the Atlanta Braves tonight at 8:15.
