(Chicago, IL) - In the National League, Nate Schierholtz homered twice and Jeff Samardzija pitched a complete game in the Chicago Cubs 11-1 clubbing of the Washington Nationals at Wrigley Field yesterday.
The Cubs' homered four-times against the Nationals, including a three-run shot by Schierholtz in the first inning and a two-run blast by the Cubs' right fielder in the seventh.
Schierholtz also had an RBI double in the third inning and finished with a career high six-RBIs.
Samardzija, 7-11 on the season, won for the first time in a month by throwing his second complete game of the season.
The Cubs are 54-70 on the year and play the Nationals tonight at 8:05.
