(Indianapolis, IN) - Colts’ tight end Coby Fleener is expected to return to practice this week after an MRI came back negative yesterday on his sprained knee.
Fleener sustained the injury during Sunday's 20-to-12 win over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.
Head coach Chuck Pagano said in a conference call Monday that Fleener is expected resume practicing later this week.
Pagano said Dwayne Allen will begin taking individual reps this week and could be ready to play in the Colts' regular season opener against the Oakland Raiders on September 8th.
Allen, the Colts other starting tight end, has missed the last two weeks because of a foot injury.
