(St. Louis, MO) - In the National League, the St. Louis Cardinals avoided a home sweep to the Chicago Cubs with an 8-to-4 win at Busch Stadium yesterday.
Cardinals' short stop Pete Kozma hit a tie breaking RBI single in the fifth inning to put St. Louis up 5-to-4.
The Cardinals are 67-and-50 and trail the Pittsburgh Pirates by three-games for first place in the NL Central. St. Louis is off today and opens a home series against the Pirates tomorrow night.
The Cubs are 52-and-65 and host the Cincinnati Reds at 8:05 tonight.
