(undated) - In the American League, The Chicago White Sox salvaged a 7-4 win over the Detroit Tigers last night at US Cellular Field in avoiding a four-game sweep against the A-L Central leaders.

Tyler Flowers singled in a run in the first inning and later homered to finish with a pair of hits and two RBIs.

Jake Peavy improved to 8-4 after pitching seven-innings and striking out seven.

The White Sox are last in the division and host the Kansas City Royals tonight at 8:10.
