(undated) - In the American League, Max Scherzer outdueled Chris Sale in a pitching matchup between two All-Stars during the Detroit Tigers 7-3 win over the Chicago White Sox at US Cellular Field Monday.
Scherzer tied the major league lead for wins this season with his 14th victory, an eight-inning gem with two-earned runs and five strikeouts.
Sale also lasted eight-innings for the White Sox, but fell behind on a two-run single by victor Martinez and a home run by Torii Hunter.
The White Sox are 39-57 and host the Tigers tonight at 8:10.
