Last updated on Monday, July 15, 2013

(Indianapolis, IN) - Indianapolis Colts’ punter Pat McAfee will reportedly play out the 2013 season as the team’s franchise player.

McAfee will get a one-year, 2.977 million dollar contract under the franchise tag instead of a long term deal.

Today is the last day for a franchise player to agree to a long term contract, and according to the the Indianapolis Star, that will not happen with the four-year pro veteran from Pittsburgh.
