(New York, NY) - Metta World Peace, or Ron Artest in his days with the Pacers, is joining the New York Knicks after agreeing to a two year contract worth a reported 1.6 million dollars per season.

World Peace was released by the Lakers under the league's amnesty clause Sunday after spending four-seasons in Los Angeles.

World Peace was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 1999 and later joined the Pacers for five seasons.
