Giambi's Clutch Hit Leads Indians Past Royals

(Kansas City, MO) - In the American League Tuesday, Jason Giambi hit a tiebreaking double in the seventh inning to lift the Cleveland Indians over the Kansas City Royals 6-5 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.

Giambi found the gap in deep right field that scored two in giving the Indians a 6-4 lead in the top of-the-seventh.

Billy Butler drove in a run in the eighth for the Royals to make it 6-5.

Chris Perez picked up his eighth save of the season after closing out Kansas City in the ninth inning.

The Indians have a half game lead for first in the AL Central at 45-38 and play the Royals tonight at 8:10.
