Driver Competition Raises Money For Charity

Last updated on Wednesday, July 10, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Two INDYCAR drivers are facing off in an online fundraising competition for charity. Scott Dixon and Alex Tagliani are attempting to raise money for their respective charities through Power of 2.

If Dixon wins, then Tagliani will have to ride a tricycle around the Indiana State Fair wearing a beaver costume. If Tagliani wins, then Dixon will have to do the same in a sheep costume.

Both Dixon and Tagliani say there are no real losers in the competition because all of the money is going to charity.

Dixon is competing for two charities which help young people living with cancer. They are CanTeen in Dixon's home country of New Zealand and Teens Living With Cancer in the United States.

Tagliani is raising money for Anaphylaxis Canada. As someone with severe food allergies, Tagliani is hoping to raise more awareness about food allergies in his home country.

The competition ends on July 18 at 8 pm.

Those who make donations will also be entered to win an autographed driver helmet and a phone or Skype call from one of the drivers. People can make a donation at www.power-of-2.org.
