(Phoenix, AZ) - In the National League, the Arizona Diamondbacks earned a four-game series split with the Chicago Cubs in a 3-1 victory last night at Chase Field in Phoenix.

Cubs' outfielder Alfonso Soriano was not in the lineup because of a pending trade with the New York Yankees.

Soriano said goodbye to his teammates before the game and waited for the deal to be finalized in New York.

The Cubs are last place in the NL Central and open a series against the San Francisco Giants tonight.

First pitch from AT&T Park is at 10:15.
