Carpenter's Clutch Hitting Leads Cardinals To Win

(St. Louis, MO) In Major League Baseball Wednesday, Matt Carpenter hit the go ahead home run in the seventh inning to lift the St. Louis Cardinals over the Houston Astros 5-4 at Busch Stadium.

Carpenter's two-out, two-run shot in the bottom of-the-seventh was his ninth home run of the season and fourth off of left handed pitchers.

Matt Holliday had a pair of hits and two-RBIs for St. Louis.

The Cardinals and Cubs open a series at Wrigley Field tonight at 8:05.
