Brandon Miller Named Butler Head Coach

(UNDATED) - The Butler Bulldogs have named Brandon Miller as the new head basketball coach, replacing Brad Stevens.

Miller is a 2003 Butler grad and played point guard for the team as a student. Miller returned to his alma mater in April to serve as assistant coach. Before that he was an assistant coach for the Fighting Illini for a year after spending 6 years at Ohio State.

Miller thanked his family for their support, Brad Stevens for being a mentor, and the university for this opportunity.

Miller says what has become known as, "The Butler Way" among students, athletes, faculty and staff, will not change. He says the value-based education and experience that Butler offers will be the focus of his coaching.

Miller says having attended Butler as a student, he knows he importance and the value of "The Butler Way."

Miller says in the 3 months that he has gotten to know players as an assistant coach, he is excited for the future of this team.

Miller's appointment as head coach is effective immediately.
