Last updated on Tuesday, June 25, 2013

(Denver, CO) - Pacers associate head coach Brian Shaw has been hired to coach the Denver Nuggets, securing his first professional head coaching job after 25-years in the NBA as a player and an assistant.

Shaw will take over for George Karl, who was fired after eight seasons with the Nuggets following the team's premature exit from the Western Conference playoffs.

Shaw won five-championships with the Los Angeles Lakers, two as an assistant, and later joined the Pacers in June of 2011.
