(St. Louis, MO) - In the National League Monday, rookie pitcher Shelby Miller won for the eighth time this season and Yadier Molina drove in a pair of runs during the St. Louis Cardinals’ 5-2 win over the Chicago Cubs at Busch Stadium.
Miller waited out a two-hour rain delay to shutout the Cubs over five-innings pitched in raising his record to 8-4 on the year.
Molina gave the Cardinals a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning with a two-run single and finished with a pair of hits.
Travis Wood fell to 5-6 on the year for allowing three-runs in seven-innings pitched.
Darwin Barney homered for the third time this season in the ninth inning for the Cubs.
The Cardinals and Cubs play tonight at 8:15.
