(New York, NY) - In Major League Baseball Wednesday, Shaun Marcum won for the first time this season in pitching the New York Mets to a 3-0 shutout over the Chicago White Sox at Citi Field.
Marcum avoided an 0-10 start by blanking Chicago over eight-innings pitched.
A two-out fielding error by short stop Alexei Ramirez in the fifth inning allowed two-runs to score.
The White Sox are nine and-a-half games out of first place in the AL Central and break until their series opener against the Cleveland Indians Friday.
