Cubs Slip Past Pirates At Wrigley

(Chicago, IL) - Edwin Jackson pitched his best game of the season and Cody Ransom hit a three-run homer in lifting the Cubs over the Pirates 4-to-1 at Wrigley Field.

Ransom's tiebreaking home run came in the seventh inning off of Pirates' reliever Justin Wilson, completing a three-RBI, two-run afternoon for the journeyman third baseman.

Jackson improved to 2-and-8 on the year after holding Pittsburgh to one-run over seven-innings pitched and striking out eight.

Chicago is 25-and-25 and host the Reds tonight at 8:05.
