(St. Louis, MO) - It took until nearly 3:15 Central Time, but the Kansas City Royals came from behind to knock off the St. Louis Cardinals 4-2 to snap their eight-game losing streak.
The start of the game was delayed by rain with the Cardinals scoring both of their runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Kansas City got a run back in the fifth and then scored three runs in the top of the ninth on a Jeff Francoeur solo homer and a two-run double from Eric Hosmer.
At that point, a second line of showers hit causing a delay of more than five hours.
St. Louis went down in order in their half of the ninth as their four-game winning streak comes to an end.
