Last updated on Monday, May 6, 2013

(Talladega, AL) - In NASCAR Sunday, David Ragan made a last-lap charge to win the rain soaked Sprint Cup event at Talladega Superspeedway.

Ragan passed Carl Edwards and Jimmie Johnson for a green white checkered flag finish after a wreck near the end of the race caused NASCAR to install two overtime laps at the 2.66 mile oval.

Ragan's teammate, Daivd Gilliland, came in second after pushing Ragan to his second career victory on the final lap.

Edwards came in third, Michael Waltrip fourth, and Johnson in fifth.

Jeff Gordon finished 11th, Dale Earnhardt Junior 17th, Tony Stewart 27th, and Danica Patrick 33rd.

Johnson is the points leader, followed by Edwards and Earnhardt Junior.

The next race in the Sprint Cup Series is Saturday evening at Darlington Raceway.
