Last updated on Thursday, May 9, 2013

(New York, NY) - In Major League Baseball Wednesday, Jake Peavy returned to the White Sox rotation after a brief absence and helped Chicago beat the New York Mets 6-3 at Citi Field in New York.

The 2007 NL Cy Young Award winner struck out six and held the Mets to one run over six and-two-thirds innings pitched.

Peavy improved to 4-1 and found run support from Alejandro De Aza's solo home run in the first inning.

De Aza finished with three-hits and scored two-runs for the White Sox.

The White Sox are 14-18 and break until tomorrow's series opener against the Los Angeles Angels at US Cellular Field.
