Indians And Yankees Split Doubleheader

(undated) - In the American League Monday, the Cleveland Indians split an afternoon doubleheader with the New York Yankees at Progressive Field.

The second game went to the Yankees, 7-0.

Justin Masterson pitched another complete-game shutout in Cleveland's 1-0 win over the Yankees in the first game of the day.

Masterson improved to 6-2 after four-hitting New York and striking out nine. He also pitched nine innings in blanking the Chicago White Sox on April 12th.

Cleveland is 20-16 and trail the Detroit Tigers for first in the AL Central by a half game.

They begin a two-game set tonight at the Philadelphia Phillies at 7:05.
