(San Diego, CA) - In the National League Tuesday, Daniel Descalso hit his first career grand-slam during the St. Louis Cardinals 10-2 rout of the San Diego Padres.
Descalso's blast to right field gave St. Louis a 9-1 lead in the eighth inning and completed a five-RBI day for the Cardinals second baseman.
Adam Wainwright pitched into the eighth inning and struck out six in improving to 6-and-3 on the year.
The Cardinals are 29-16 and play the Padres tonight in the rubber-game of their three-game set.
First pitch from San Diego is at 10:10.
