Carb Day And Freedom 100 At IMS Today

(Indianapolis, IN) - Carb Day and the Indy Lights Freedom 100 highlight the last Friday of activity for the month at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Carlos Munoz will start second when the green flag drops on the Indy Light's race this afternoon at 12:30.

Munoz will also start second in his Indianapolis 500 debut Sunday and is one of five drivers to qualify for the dominant team at Indy so far this year, Andretti Autosport.

The 21-year old Colombian will start next to pole-sitter and local favorite, Ed Carpenter, after turning a four-lap qualifying average of 228.342 miles-per-hour.

The annual Carb Day Pit-Stop Challenge begins at 2:00 this afternoon.

Team Ganassi's Scott Dixon edged out Oriol Servia in the finals of last year's event.

The 97th running of the Indianapolis 500 begins Sunday at 12:12.
