Valbuena's Ninth Inning Blast Leads Cubs Past Marlins

(Miami, FL) - In the National League Thursday, Luis Valbuena hit a tiebreaking home run in the top of the ninth inning to lead the Chicago Cubs over the Miami Marlins, 4-3 at Marlins Park.

Valbuena hit his fourth home run of the season with 2-outs in the ninth, a line drive to right field off of Marlins' reliever Steve Cishek.

Carlos Marmol allowed a hit and a walk in the ninth before closing out the game for his second save of the season.

Wellington Castillo helped dig the Cubs out of a 3-1 hole in fourth-inning with an RBI double, and Nate Schierholtz tied the game in the sixth with a home run to right field.

Edwin Jackson allowed 3 runs over six innings pitched for a no decision.

The Cubs are 7-14 and play the Marlins tonight at 7:10
