Reds Power Past Angels To Win Opening Series

(Cincinnati, OH) - In Major League Baseball Thursday, the Cincinnati Reds won the rubber game of baseball’s first opening day, interleague series by powering past the Los Angeles Angels, 5-4 at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati.

Shin-Soo Choo hit the first of three home runs by the Reds on the opening pitch of the game and Todd Fraizer made it 2-0 with a solo-shot in the second inning.

Chris Heisey gave the Reds a 5-3 lead in the fifth inning with a 2-run blast to left field.

Cincinnati is 2-1 on the season and open a weekend series tonight against the Washington Nationals at Great American Ballpark.

Game time is at 7:10.
