Reds Manage Only A Single Hit In Loss To Nationals

(Washington, DC) - The Washington Nationals limited the high powered Cincinnati Reds to one hit during an 8-1 victory at Nationals’ Park.

Gio Gonzalez had allowed 12 runs in his last two starts before his eight inning, 7-strikeout performance against the Reds.

Rafael Soriano pitched a scoreless ninth and Gonzalez picked up his second win of the season.

Bryce Harper made it 3-0 in the third-inning with his eighth home run of the season and Danny Espinosa homered later in the inning to make it 6-to-nothing.

Joey Votto provided the only offense for Cincinnati with a home run in the fourth.

Bronson Arroyo fell to 2-2 after giving up five runs in six innings pitched.

The Reds are 13-and-10 and resume their series in Washington tonight at 7:05.
