(St. Louis, MO) - In the National League Monday, Mat Latos extended his scoreless streak to 17 innings during the Cincinnati Reds 2-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium.
Latos won his second game of the year after outdueling Adam Wainwright through his six-innings on the mound.
Wainwright gave up an RBI single to Joey Votto in the first inning and another run on a fielder's choice in the fourth in slipping to 4-2 on the year.
Both teams trail the Pittsburgh Pirates by a half game for first in NL Central and resume their series tonight at 8:15 in St. Louis.
