Kennedy's Solid Outing Pushed Diamondbacks Past Cardinals

(Phoenix, AZ) - The St. Louis Cardinals were limited by a solid pitching performance by Ian Kennedy during a 6-2 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field in Phoenix.

Kennedy settled down to finish with 8 strikeouts and 2 runs allowed after giving up a run scoring double to Matt Holliday in the top of the first.

Jason Kubel and AJ Pollock hit back to back doubles in the fourth-inning to give Arizona a 3 to 1 lead, and Martin Prado later doubled in the seventh to give the Diamondbacks a 5-2 cushion.

Adam Wainwright left the game after giving up 11 hits and 3 earned runs over the span of 6 innings pitched.
