Cingrani Strikes Out Eight In First Career Start

(Cincinnati, OH) - In the National League Thursday, Tony Cingrani struck out eight in his first big lead start during the Cincinnati Reds 11-1 rout of the Miami Marlins at Great American Ballpark.

The southpaw's only run-allowed came in the fourth-inning when Justin Ruggiano homered to left field for a 1-1 tie.

The Reds are 9-7 and resume their series against the Marlins tonight at 7:10.
