NASCAR Heads To Las Vegas For Kobalt Tools 400

(Las Vegas, NV) - NASCAR’s Sprint Cup series drivers will qualify this evening for Sunday’s Kobalt Tools 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Carl Edwards ended a 70-race winless streak by taking the checkered flag at Phoenix International Raceway last weekend.

Edwards won the Sprint Cup race at Vegas two years ago and is currently 11th in the point standings.

Jimmie Johnson is currently the points leader, followed by Dale Earnhardt Junior and reigning Sprint Cup champion, Brad Keselowski. Columbus,

Indiana native Tony Stewart won last season's race at the one-point-five mile oval and is currently 23rd in points.

Jeff Gordon is eighth in points, Ryan Newman 20th, and Danica Patrick 22nd.

Green flag racing begins at 3:00 on Sunday.
