Sycamores Upset Another Ranked Opponent

(Terre Haute, IN) - The Indiana State Sycamores won their second consecutive game against a ranked opponent by dismissing the number-13 Creighton Blue Jays 76-57 at Hulman Center in Terre Haute.

The Sycamores held the high scoring Blue Jays to 41 percent shooting from the field and limited star forward, Doug McDermott, to eight points on 3-10 shooting.

McDermott entered last night's contest averaging 24 points-per-game and is the son of Creighton head coach, Greg McDermott.

Jake Odum broke the one-thousand point barrier for his career at ISU by leading all scorers with 22 points.

R.J. Mahurin added 17 points and Manny Arop 13 points and seven rebounds for the Sycamores.

Creighton is now 20-4 overall, 9-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference, and have a half game lead on Indiana State for first place in the MVC.

They host the Illinois State Red Birds Saturday Night.

The Sycamores are 15-8 overall, 8-4 in the conference, and host the Southern Illinois Salukis Saturday afternoon.
