Purdue's Late Season Struggles Continue At Iowa

(Iowa City, IA) - The Purdue Boilermakers late season slide continued in a 58-48 loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City.

Three of the five starters for the Boilermakers' were unable to score against the Hawkeyes, including Terone Johnson, Purdue's leading scorer.

Both teams shot poorly from the field, but the Hawkeyes forced the Boilermakers into 15 turnovers and never trailed during the contest.

Iowa have won four of their last five games and split the season series with Purdue, avenging a three point overtime loss at Mackey Arena on January 27th.

Aaron White and Roy Devyn Marble led all scorers with 18 points each for the Hawkeyes.

Donnie Hale topped the Boilermakers with 13 points off the bench and Freshman AJ Hammons, dislodged from his starting center position, scored 12 points in reserve.

Iowa is 18-10 overall, 7-8 in the Big Ten Conference, and play at the Indiana Hoosiers Saturday night.

Purdue is 13-15 overall, 6-9 in the conference, and play again Sunday at the number 16 Wisconsin Badgers.
