Pacers Welcome LeBron And The Heat To Bankers Life Fieldhouse

Last updated on Friday, February 1, 2013

(Indianapolis, IN) - The best defense and the best offense in the Eastern Conference square off tonight when the Miami Heat visit the Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The Pacers' top defense in points allowed trumped the Heat's number one scoring offense in first meeting between the two teams on January 8th.

Indiana held Miami to their lowest point of the season during an 88-77 win in Indianapolis and relegated the league's best team in field goal percentage to 41 percent shooting from the field.

The Heat have the best record in the Eastern Conference with a 29-13 record and have won five of their last six games, including a 105-85 win at the Brooklyn Nets Wednesday night.

Lebron James is fourth in the league in scoring with a 26.5 points-per-game average and the Heat's off season acquisition, Ray Allen, is fourth in the league in field goal percentage.

The Pacers are tied for the fourth best record in the East at 27-19 and snapped a three game losing streak with a 98-79 win over the Detroit Pistons Wednesday.

While Indiana's road struggles are well documented with a 10-16 record away from the Fieldhouse, the blue and gold are riding a 12 game winning streak at home and are perfect in Indianapolis since losing to the Denver Nuggets on December 7th.

Paul George leads the team in scoring and had 29 points against Miami earlier this season, but stumbled to a 3 of 11 shooting night against Detroit in producing his lowest point total in ten games.

Tipoff tonight is at 7:00.
