Crusaders Knock Off Dayton, Remain In First Place

(Dayton, OH) - The Valparaiso Crusaders continued their run at the top of the Horizon League table with a 68-61 win at Ervin J. Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio.

The Crusaders built a 13 point lead in the first half and never trailed the entire game.

The Raiders had several chances to tie it with 11 minutes to play, but were unable to pull ahead in losing to Valparaiso for the second time this season.

AJ Pacher led all scorers with 23 points for the Raiders.

Kevin Van Wijk had 20 points and nine rebounds for the Crusaders and Matt Kenney chipped in 15 points off the bench.

Valparaiso has a game and-a-half lead on the Detroit Titans for first place in league play after winning four straight games and 10 of their last 11.

The Crusaders and Titans square-off Saturday Evening at the Arc in Valparaiso.
