Redbirds Use Late Run To Slip Past Sycamores

(Normal, IL) - The Illinois State Redbirds used a late run to slide by the Indiana State Sycamores, 60-58 at Red Bird Arena in Normal, Illinois.

The Red Birds took the lead for good with just under four minutes left in the game and R-J Mahurin missed a potential game winning 3-point shot with time expiring.

Johnny Hill led all scorers with 18 points for Illinois State and Manny Arop had 13 points for the Sycamores.

The Red Birds are 11-9 overall, 2-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference and host the Evansville Aces Saturday.

Indiana State fall to 12-7 overall, 5-3 in the conference, and host the Northern Iowa Panthers Saturday at Hulman Center.
